Given that we’re currently embracing the chill of winter, how about we whip up a cozy, seasonal mocktail that warms the soul without needing any heat? I’m thinking of a Winter Spice Mocktail that’s bursting with flavors of cinnamon, apple, and a hint of orange. It’s like winter in a glass!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of apple cider
  • 1/2 cup of orange juice (freshly squeezed preferred)
  • 1 cinnamon stick, plus more for garnish
  • 2 cloves
  • 1 star anise
  • Sparkling water to top off
  • Orange slice for garnish

Instructions

  1. Combine Flavors: In a saucepan, combine the apple cider, orange juice, cinnamon stick, cloves, and star anise. Gently warm the mixture over low heat for about 10 minutes. Do not boil. This allows the spices to infuse their flavors into the liquid.
  2. Cool: Remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool to room temperature. Once cooled, remove the spices to prevent overpowering the flavors.
  3. Serve: Fill a highball glass with ice. Pour the spiced mixture into the glass until it’s about three-quarters full. Top off with sparkling water for a festive fizz.
  4. Garnish: Add a cinnamon stick inside for aroma and a slice of orange on the rim for a vibrant pop of color.
  5. Enjoy: Give it a gentle stir and enjoy the refreshing taste of winter!

This mocktail is perfect for cozy evenings in or as a festive addition to your winter gatherings. The combination of apple, orange, and spices brings a comforting yet refreshing flavor profile that’s just right for the season.

Cheers to a delightful winter refreshment! 🍊✨
